Honoring Excellence in Gravure Since 1981
To try to catch up for the lost year, we have closed the class of 2021 and will announce them at the R2R Conference 2022 R2R USA Conference (aimcal.org) along with the class of 2022.
It is time to nominate your colleagues or those who you consider the people who have helped advanced the knowledge of the Gravure industry to the Cylinder Society Class of 2022. Hubert Metzger, the Cylinder Society Chair, took the stage and address the importance and relevance of the Cylinder Society at the AIMCAL Executive Leadership Conference. “The Cylinder Society is a way for those who are helping to advance the Gravure process and association to be recognized.” Nominations for the year class of 2022 must be received no later than August 26th, 2022.
Cylinder Society Inductees – Class of 2019
The Gravure Cylinder Society is an honorary organization founded by the Gravure Technical Association and Gravure Research Institute in April, 1981. The Society honors those who have made great personal or professional contributions towards the industry as a whole, or to gravure-oriented associations such as the Gravure Association of the Americas and predecessors like the Packaging and Label Gravure Association Global, Gravure Association of America, Gravure Technical Association, and Gravure Research Institute.
It is with respect and appreciation that we salute the vision, dedication, a perseverance of these individuals. And, we thank them for playing a role in the growth of gravure from an accomplished and well-practiced craft to an international industry that today has connections to printing, publication, packaging, converting, materials, and equipment. The society also encourages the friendship and shared spirit of teamwork that develops among professionals in the industry, and leverages these relationships to create even more opportunities for the industry and those who work in it.
Gravure Cylinder Society members are men and women chosen by our industry to be honored for their contributions to the gravure processes measured in accomplishments and years of service. Some members are actively involved in activities throughout the year that promote and support gravure. All Gravure Cylinder Society members are recognized by the distinctive pin they wear. Each year the Society solicits your help by asking you to nominate worthy candidates for membership. The by-laws specify that the individuals be: “. . . Industry leaders who have rendered outstanding or, extraordinary contributions to the Gravure industry.” Membership is open to any individual, regardless of his or her present or past affiliation with the Gravure Association of the Americas. All nominations must be submitted in writing including biographical information and qualifications – accomplishments and years of service – for election. 2022 Cylinder Society Nomination Form
