WWF Russia and UPM have today released The Guidelines on Sustainable Forest Management for Wood Suppliers in Russia.

This cooperation aims to help wood suppliers in adopting ecologically, socially and economically sustainable practices in wood supply and forestry.
The guidelines bring together the requirements set out in both Russian legislation and international voluntary forest certification schemes. They offer practical instructions and provide examples of best practices in safeguarding biodiversity, mitigating environmental impact and encouraging work safety and interaction with local communities and other stakeholders.

ERA’s Annual Conference & Management Meeting took place in

Hosted at the Hotel “Grand Elysée in Hamburg, the meeting included a visit to Prinovis’ publication gravure plant in Ahrensburg on the afternoon of October 5th to round off the event. Despite meeting and travel restrictions due to the ongoing corona pandemic ERA’s Annual Conference was attended by some 50 delegates from the European gravure industry.

UPM Biocomposites and Finnish Mysoda Collaboration

Upcoming Small Quantity Generator (SQG) Re-Notification Requirement for businesses that generate hazardous waste

Small Quantity Generators (SQGs) are now required to re-notify EPA or their state environmental agency as to their generator status at least every four years by completing and submitting the Notification of Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) Subtitle C Activities (Site Identification Form) in full, also known as EPA Form 8700-12, or state equivalent. The first re-notification is due by September 1, 2021. Please see EPA’s map of where the Generator Improvements Rule is currently in effect to determine if this new requirement is in effect in your state.
